How secure is Eftsure?
Any supplier information is stored in Eftsure servers, which are physically located in Australia including back up servers. Some other vendors you work with may already be using Eftsure.
How can I tell whether this is a scam or not?
When you follow the link to verify your details through Eftsure, you’ll see that your bank account information is already partially filled in. You’ll also see your name and WesTrac listed on the page. This confirms the request is legitimate and that the email has come from the correct source.
How to verify the legitimacy of a call from Eftsure?
If you choose not to validate your account details via the Eftsure bank link, you will get a phone call from a member of the Eftsure validation team who will verify your details over the phone. Once Eftsure has finished the verification process, they securely pass your information onto WesTrac to enter into the finance system. A confirmation email will be sent from Eftsure once data is verified.
How to Change Your Data with Eftsure?
To update your details, please contact the Vendor Management team and request a ‘Eftsure change request.’ You will receive an email from Eftsure with a link to update your data in the portal. An email will be sent once to confirm your data has been verified.
Depending on the data being updated, you may get a call from an Eftsure team member to verify your details over the phone before receiving the confirmation email.
What is the Verification Process?
Eftsure’s two-step verification process make sure you can be paid easily and securely.
- Complete online form.
- Choose one of the following verification options.
-
Option 1 - Bank link (recommended for fastest verification)
You can select the correct bank account straight from your online banking, no need to enter the details manually. You will be asked to log into your bank, which gives Eftsure an instant and secure verification by matching the account against the Australian Business Register (ABR).
This option used Yodlee, a global leader in secure financial data services. Yodlee is accredited by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) for Open Banking under the Consumer Data Right (CDR) framework.
Your banking login details are never saved or stored by Yodlee, Eftsure or WesTrac. The login happens directly between you and your bank. Eftsure only receives the bank account you choose to verify, nothing else. -
Option 2 - Phone call verification
A verification analyst will call you to complete a two-way verification with you to confirm your account number, routing number, account name and Employer Identification Number (EIN).

Why am I being asked to verify my details?
Banks don’t check that a BSB and Account Number actually match the correct Account Name when processing payments. This makes it easier for cybercriminals to intercept emails, alter invoices or send fake requests claiming a supplier’s bank details have changed, often without the real supplier ever knowing.
To protect your payments, Eftsure is used to validate supplier bank account details. This ensures the information held on file for you is accurate and hasn’t been tampered with. This one-off verification helps make sure funds intended for your organisation are paid to your bank account.
Why did I receive an email from Eftsure and my customer?
WesTrac has authorised Eftsure to perform supplier verification on their behalf. This is a standard process and is sent to all WesTrac suppliers. It’s not linked to a specific invoice or payment. If you’d like extra reassurance, you can contact WesTrac Vendor Management team directly to confirm the request is legitimate.
Is there any cost to me to be verified?
No, there is no charge for suppliers to be verified by Eftsure.
Is Eftsure legitimate?
Eftsure is Australia’s largest independent network of verified business and bank details. Eftsure is safeguarding payments worth over $11.5 billion AUD per month to 3.1 million Australian businesses.
