There is no such thing as a silly question, especially when it comes to operating and maintaining a piece of machinery.
We understand how busy the daily grind can be, so we’ve taken the time to shortlist some of the most common questions – and link you to useful resources – about your machine.
Operating your machine
Your latest Cat machine might be a bit different to what you are used to, which means you’re bound to have questions about operating it to gain the best advantage.
Where is the best place to go for information about my machine?
Your operation and maintenance manual (or OMM for short) is located behind the driver’s seat and contains a wealth of information. It’s your guide to understanding service interval hours, working load limits, transport specifications, how to use features… you name it, it’s in there.
My machine is driving slowly - is it broken?
Are you operating with creep control? Creep control allows you to work more accurately at a predetermined speed while maintaining full joystick movement and hydraulic power to your attachments. For more information on Creep Control click here.
If you think there’s a different issue, contact your local WesTrac branch.
What is return to dig?
A programmable feature that saves you time. Once you have unloaded your bucket, you can return to the predetermined dig position (which is normally level) and allows you to go straight back into the pile, without the worry of having to remember where your bucket was previously positioned.
How do I set the self-levelling feature?
You can enable this feature by flicking the switch in the top left-hand side of the cab of your Skiddie or Compact track loader. To learn how, watch the Cat video below or click here.
